Cover Girl Outlast Lip Stain |
Every girl’s gripe is not having a lip color that can make it through the day without constant reapplication. Upon hearing about CoverGirl’s new Outlast Lip Stain everyone at Beauty-tips.com was buzzing about it. After testing the product for a few days, we were ready to report our likes and dislikes with the lip stain. First, the dislikes: Be sure you get the right color. The packaging is a bit deceiving and after testing a few colors we all noted that the stain tends to be lighter in color than the packaging suggests. As a non-department store product, it cannot be tested before purchasing, but luckily CoverGirl gives some helpful hints on what color is best for you on their web site so you won’t be totally in the dark. Our only other complaint is the product’s tendency to find its way into every crack and shred of dry skin. So before applying, be sure to exfoliate your lips so you’ll have a smooth application. This can be done by gently rubbing a warm wash cloth over your lips or using a soft bristle tooth brush with warm water. Outlast Lip Stain likes: The application is easy. Just put it on like you’re drawing on your lips with a marker and press & pout. The amount of color control you have with the lip stain is great too. It can be a hint of color with one swipe of the marker or it can be a blast of color with a few quick strokes. The best part (and what we were all hoping for) is it really does “outlast”! Most of us noted its staying power from morning to late afternoon; meaning it survived breakfast, coffee, lunch, snacks and plenty of glasses of water. The stain looks great alone as a hint of color and lasts well under a gloss if you’re wanting more shine instead of a matte look. Despite the few hiccups with color matching and emphasizing dry lips, the CoverGirl Outlast Lip Stain does what it promises by outlasting the average lipstick. And with a drugstore price it is worth adding to your makeup bag! |
